In refrigeratories and big fridge-stores the temperature is kept at -20C - -30C. Frost is spread through all the constructions. Even if there is a good heat insulating the basement and soil freezing exists, that leads to ground swelling and basement damage. There is the same problem at artificial ice rinks. You can solve the problem of soil heating at refrigeratories by a heating cable.

System control

We use specially designed control schemes for system control of CHTK heating system — 2 systems that use independent heating controller. The first system keeps the temperature at +5C and works as the mail system. The second system is set at +3C and works as emergency one that switches on if the first breaks down. Heating controllers are obligatory placed into a corrugated pipe so they could be easily changed.

Foundations and soil protection system from freezing, the required heating power is 15 ... 30 W/m2. We recommend using heating sections with a specific power of 10 W/m of the SN-10.

Installing heating cables to protect foundations and soil from freezing is similar in many ways to installing a cable for Underfloor heating. To increase the reliability of the system, redundancy is applied: two heating cables are laid and two thermostats are installed.

Heating cables are installed under a layer of thermal insulation to prevent freezing of the ground or Foundation. They are placed in the lowest layer of concrete at the base of the floor. Waterproofing Protection of the Foundation of freezers is arranged properly. The thickness of the insulation layer must be at least 5 cm. If there are cold bridges (supporting elements), the thermal effect must be higher at the base of these elements to compensate for heat loss.
